What! Are you kidding? Anime is awesome! Akira is awesome! I disown you for the day! And if I could, you would be forced to watch the following: Vampire Hunter D, Fist of the NorthStar, Metropolis, Ghost in the Shell, Howl’s Moving Castle, My Neighbor Totoro, Cowboy Bebop, and Ninja Scroll(again). Just for starters. Shame on you, Dale.

YEAH! Shame on you! on a slightly related note… Y’all going to the anime convention in dallas?
That con is a little far for me, Court is almost in the same neighborhood. Texas is pretty small, right? Everywhere is pretty much in walking distance.
If you have enough time.
Sorry Court, I love anime but it’s true and I except it. And Howl’s Moving Castle sucked!
@primus0: Did Dale threatened to flash you if you didn’t side with him? He’s notorious for doing that.
OK, this again.
Just because I REFUSED to flash YOU, you’ve held this grudge.
Let it go. The grudge…. not the…. well…. just let it go.
I love so many forms of anime…but almost didn’t. Akira is an amazing visual piece, but it is not the first thing to watch when curious about anime. IT SUCKED SO BAD as a linear movie with no plot to keep my interest that I nearly gave up on trying any other kind. Thank goodness for Ninja Scroll, Fullmetal Alchemist, and Trigun! (But even then, Trigun: Badlands Rumble was a baaad idea!)
@Peck Tidwell: I can totally see where you are coming from. I watched Akira multiple times as a kid, and only have those memories of it. I have purposely not gone back to watch it as an adult. I fear that like so many of my other childhood favorites, it’s gonna suck if I watch now, as a grown up. And even worse, it would make Dale right.
Saying nothing.
If only that was always the case.
We’ve been doing this dance long enough, you know what I WOULD say then think it…. that’s enough for me.
I do watch anime, but I’m not overly fanatic. I’d really love a bike like that one, though. Even if just to look at it, cause I’m sure I’d just drive it against a wall if I tried.
It couldn’t be any worse than this:

There’s no denying, anime and manga artists know how to design a sweet bike! But call me Disney-old fashioned, I’d take a Tron light cycle over an Akira bike any day
Still, I’d probably just drive it against the same wall the bike just made, so it’s just as well that I don’t have one ^^
